Sunday Philosophies-Flowing with Time!

Hey Everyone,

Its been a while I  have updated any post. The reason is a common one...'Cant find time for it!'. About two months back I enrolled myself in an Under graduation Degree College. It was on the very first day that I realized soon my life was going to change. Couple of weeks and I was piled with unfinished assignments and lots to prepare for the upcoming tests. Life had adopted a whole new schedule. I like changes and so I welcomed it. But soon it got tiring and boring at times. I needed to find time for myself..to do what I actually want to. And in this quest of finding that little time I stumbled upon one of its property that I found interesting!

Time is not something that proceeds at the same pace, it is We who determine how quickly Time passes!

Let us view time with two different and major angles.
Time as a function of Clocks and Calender and Time as a function of feelings.
Latter being my focus for this post.

Time as a function of Clocks and Calender:

About five hundred years back a scientist who liked maths and nature..wanting to relate them.. intervaled Time and used as a tool to measure actions. Newton for his equations wanted time to be more definite. Since then it has always been used to 'measure' action or work.

This can be summed in two questions.
1.What time of the year is it going to rain?
2.I have a date tonight at 9.

Now lets discover higher meaning of Time!
Rather than observing it lets be in it, flow with it.

Time as a function of Feelings:
Why Feelings?
Simple...Feelings are the very reason of us being called Living Humans. It differentiates us from the non living.
And most of all it is something that we can control..We can shift gears with our feelings be happy when we want...Feel nostalgia when we wish to..also be sad by remembering losing something of value..and many more..you get my point!
Another major reason why Time should be related with Feelings...Both are of the same origin..The Mother Nature !
How to view Feelings as a function of Time:
Einstein put is best when he said 'A hot coal when kept on hand for a minute is not bearable, but sitting with your girlfriend in garden for an hour feels like seconds' !
Its very simple and straight..When you do what you like Time does not go fast..or rather you dont feel the heavy footsteps of Time running.
The more you do what you do not like the more you get tired. And nothing can tire you more than Time..!
Ever wondered why that song which your loved one had dedicated to you once finishes so fast. Yes, because you love it or have reason to love it!
Also on little introspecting you may realize you never looked at the seek bar when that song was playing...you were in resonance with time giving yourself and your feelings that maximum amplitude..!
But if you had to wait and do nothing for the same time you get bored and start looking at the watch..Ah just two mins..is that true or my watch broken?
Nah its not the watch its YOU..!

How you know if your Feeling is in Resonance with Time:?
Its when you complete a task without or with minimal look at watch and when you are done you have that serene smile on your face..with that satisfaction in your heart..!
You know it when you do feel it!

Once you start doing things that you like round the clock..you will start living in present (With the time) and relish every passing moment..Life will be instantaneous...just as Nature had intended !

It worked for me..:)

Sunday Philosophies-Time Travel

Hey Everyone,
First, apologies for not being regular.
This Post is an outcome of a quite interesting incident that happened to me last night.
I was reading lying on my bed and suddenly my cell phone rang!
An unknown number,it was 1.23 in the morning...expecting to hear one of my friends voice who must be trying to play some night game, but it was no familiar voice...He introduced himself as someone who knows me and wanted to ask some questions..I said 'Shoot'...And answer to the question is the rest of the post!

Time Travel!

Time Travel has never lost its position from the list of Most Discussed Topics, Since 1895 when H G Wells put forth the idea of 'The Time Machine' !

But it would be an insult to this concept to be so young!

It has been troubling the mortal minds since the ages of Mahabharat.(it is 'Mahabharat' and not 'Mahabharata')
It is mentioned that King Revait was imparted wisdom about Time Travel and its Marvels by Brahma back in 700BC.

Well what Revait and Brahma discussed, must have been mentioned in the Mahabharat Granth but encrypted in metaphors too high to understand in one life!

So how do we enlighten ourself with Time Travel?
Lets go to the source which is less encrypted and easy to understand.
Our Science Heroes!
Newton?
But he is the Person with most encrypted texts in science!
More closer...someone who can speak language of our 'Time'!
The living legend Stephen Hawking.
According to Hawking, Time is the fourth dimension. To explain dimensions let us take a simple example of...you standing at a fixed point with a tennis ball in your hand...standing there you can throw this ball straight ahead of you likewise behind you...that makes one dimension.Second dimension is when you throw the ball is to your right or left,And when you throw that ball in air or drop it vertically you add the third dimension!
In Maths we call it the Three Dimensional Axis.
Now,Time being the fourth dimension..our question is can we throw the ball such that it goes into the future or the past?!

The three now hypothetical ways in which one can travel time:-

1.Worm Holes
2.Orbiting a very heavy mass body such as the black hole
3.Travelling in train whose speed is nearly(99.9%) equal to speed of light

Worm Holes
Everything in this Universe is made of holes..right from your shirt to the mouse that is in your hand rite now...and so is the space and time!
These holes present in space and time are too small to believe it being real...but they are present. These are called Worm Holes. These holes, as in your shirt, are seperated by distance but if manipulated such that it is separated by time...they become the gate to the past!
But this creates something called Paradoxes!
Paradoxes as explained by Hawking...Suppose a boy creates a worm hole of one minute. This means that he can now go back in past one minute. He stands in front of the worm hole and loads a pistol. It takes him about 2 minutes to load it. Now he walks to the other side of the worm hole, the side through which the past is visible, from there he can see himself doing what he was doing one minute in past, loading the pistol. Now he fires the loaded pistol at himself(who is still loading the pistol). So how did he kill himself after dying..?!
This is a simple paradox.
Other thing which prevents time travel into past is because such a worm will destroy itself because of 'Feedback'.
Feedback is what you hear when microphone and speaker are kept close to each other!
It happens because the same sound note is amplified many number of times...if this goes on for long it may also blast the speaker!
Same is the case with worm holes...here the sound note are the electromagnetic radiations!
And..so according to Science because of the Paradox and feedback one cannot go into the past.
But going into the future is very much possible.

Orbiting a very heavy mass body such as a black hole.
Mass slows down time...this means when you are around the pyramids time for you goes slow than the people living in open lands!
It is a fact that the 33 Global Positioning Satellite or the GPS orbiting the massive Earth have to speed up their internal clocks every day in order to catch up with the Earth Timings!
As far as the human knowledge exceeds the object with most gravity is a Black Hole!
The idea is to built a spaceship and send a man to revolve around black hole...Scientist, on paper, using complex equations have made it possible!
When this man is revolving around the black hole..for him time is moving slow...and back on earth time is moving considerably fast with respect to him!
So by the time he finishes an year revolving around black hole..many years have passed back on earth. When he comes back to Earth he lands into future. This idea has no way of going back to where he had come from!

Travelling in train whose speed is nearly(99.9%) equal to speed of light.
It is believed that no matter how fast you move you just cannot beat the universe world record holder 'Light'.The basic idea here is when you are inside a train moving with 99.9% speed of light and you try to move in the forward direction with speed enough to break the barrier set by light(your speed now exceeds the speed of light when observed from ground)..but nature doesnt allow that and so your movement inside the train will be slowed...and so time for people inside the train is slow than people outside!
After travelling a year in train many years have passed normally on earth...so you are again standing in the future with no going back pass!

This are the three ways one can scientifically travel in future!

Let me speak personally now..
The way Science looks at Time is too much based on Clock and Dates!

Will try to discover another, may be higher, meaning to Time soon, very soon!

Thank You,
Atit Kothari.

Sunday Philosophies-Introduction!

Hey Everyone,

This post is an introduction for the new section in my blog, 'Sunday Philosophies'.

One of my main purpose of writing blogs were to share some of my thoughts with the world.Thoughts that randomly enter my head.Maybe its something inside it that makes this poor single thread of thought into a complex web.
Till now I had certain people whom I forced to listen...but lately they all started working out and am kind of scared of them now...so am on a spree to find some new victims!
Philosophy for me in one line is 'A point where science fails and nature takes over'.

'Sunday Philosophies' will bring up some of the most controversial questions combined with the widely discussed theories of our time!
This section will be a poly phase...i.e for instance Atheist one time Believer the next, will depend on the topic discussed!
Comments may become our debate stage!
Will try to be as regular as possible.

Thank You,
Atit Kothari

Tracing Newspapers

Hey Everyone,

It has been in my mind for quite a while, but recent mishap of Boeing 737 Dubai-Manglore, acted as spur and inspired me to write this post.

Oxford Dictionary defines Newspapers as 'Regular printed publications of loose folded sheets with news etc.'
what does it define news as?
News..'Information about important or interesting recent events, when published or broadcast'!
consider published here.

Let us take a very short ride into the past and trace how was the structure of newspapers in india a few decades back.

The history newspaper in India began in 1780, with the publication of
the Bengal Gazette from Calcutta(now kolkata).
The newspapers collected their news from the news agencies. India has
four news agencies namely, the Press Trust of India (PTI), United News
of India (UNI), Samachar Bharti and Hindustan Smachar. Newspapers and
magazines in India are independent and usually privately owned. About
5,000 newspapers, 150 of them major publications, are published daily
in nearly 100 languages. Over 40,000 periodicals are also published in
India. The periodicals specialize in various subjects but the majority
of them deal with subjects of general interest. During the 1950s, 214
daily newspapers were published in the country. Out of these, 44 were
English language dailies while the rest were published in various
regional languages. This number rose to 2,856 dailies in 1990 with 209
English dailies.y 2007, 62 of the world`s best selling newspaper
dailies were published in countries like China, Japan, and India. India
consumed 99 million newspaper copies as of 2007, making it the second
largest market in the world for newspapers.
Enough of these boring facts!

ahh..India sure has been a land mark in terms of consumption, But my
question here is what kind of consumption.

Let us trace these 'kinds'.
We wil skip to the beginning of this year in the vast timeline of newspaper..for things have changed very fast in the past few years which has brought a revolution. One of the major component being The Internet,it wont be of much use to trace what were newspapers like
in the days of Gandhiji!

Kinds of consumptions be divided into most simplest but widely covering
:-
Positive &
Negative.

Wil have to Agree what is Positive and what Negative varies according
to individual but I am talking about magnitude where any sane person wil agree 'Peace' as Positive and 'Terrorism' as Negative!

Over the years Newspapers hav undergone changes, lets not forget the
increase in its weight(pages)!
Out of tons of sections in the news paper...I may want to focus on its
very first page.

Its an amazing day...today you didnt even burn your breakfast...the coffee has the temperature you wanted with that smell of brew..you finally take your breakfast plate with your fresh edition of news paper and sit on your dinning table...You jus place that fat paper on the table and there it is..On the very first page The Mood Spoiler!
Headlines of your newspaper...
'5 year Old Raped by some dumb losers of life!'
or '1250 years building collapsed with 77 dead 155 injured but a dog
unscratched as it is said every dog has its day!'
or 'I am not Pakistani, i am an actor Damn it!'
and many other...
Want Evidence?
Evidence 1
Evidence 2
Evidence 3
Evidence 4

Evidence 5

Let me talk personally now...I hav been reading The Times of India for 5 years...and almost every edition since last couple of years!
Times is respected all over the world...but sincerely speaking even it has been under this cyclone...Lately Times has also been quite negative when it comes to the headlines on the first page..!
Frankly no one wants to hear his national politician guilty in some bribe case or its judiciary system being criticized or its incapability in controlling population..as his very first news sentence!

Positivity is needed!

I agree let it be a plane crash or a some high profile sting operation or any of the above negative news..people have the right to know!
but then i never said that editors should delete these news
completely...I just want these news to be just shifted anywhere in their 50 pages but the first page.

Then What should be on the first page?
something like this..
Positive 1
Positive 2
Positive 3

any news with 'general' positivity in itself may b published on the very first page!
Inventions...Go Green progress..national positive achievements..sports honor..successful deals..etc!
You never know this may evn help cure certain mental disease one of the major bein depression...Number of people havin mental stress in a street are more than the lamp post in that street!

So,it is my sincere request to all the news papers to be a little positive in its first page because terrorist can wait if you can create life in Lab!
